Gift idea...

I made biscotti with toasted almonds, placed six of them in a mason jar and tied hemp around them. I also chocolate covered three biscotti's per jar. I gave them out as Easter gifts. Im going to post the recipe, just keep in mind you dont need to add the almonds, you can add whatever you want to it. I was told biscotti lasts 6 months, but I haven't tested that.....Enjoy!

 
  
BISCOTTI
Yeilds: around 34
Flour 1# 8 oz
Sugar 1# ¾ oz
Baking powder ¼ oz
Salt ¼ oz
Butter 6 oz
Eggs 10.5 oz
8 oz toasted almond
1/5 oz almond extract (cap full)

Directions:
1. Using a paddle, combine butter, sugar, baking powder, salt and flour.
2. Mix tell forms small beads.
3. Add the eggs and mix just until combined (do not over mix)
4. Remove from the bowl and place on a floured table
5. Work in variations
6. Divide into 1 # 3 oz pieces and shape into a log 21 inch long and 3 inch wide
7. Place on a paper lined sheet pan and bake 350 until golden brown about 30 minutes
8. Remove from the oven and cool 15 minutes and then cut 1 inch wide at a slight angle.
9. Lay on its side and bake slightly
